For Prevention and Treatment of Stages I – IV Pressure Injuries
Heels are the second most common location for pressure injuries on the body*, which can lead to complications such as infection.
The Pan Pacific Pressure Injury Alliance recommends using a heel protector that will “elevate & offload the heel completely in such a way as to distribute the weight of the leg along the calf without placing pressure on the Achilles tendon”*
The Waffle Heel Elevator
- Cradles the foot and protects the heel from developing pressure injuries(bed sores)
- Velcro fastenings allow for easy sizing adjustments
- Provides heel offloading through a dual chamber created by the Air-filled ‘Pillow’ Pad that suspends the heel off the bed surface
- Open Foot Gate – allows easy and effective access to the foot without continuously having to remove or readjust the heel protector
Reactive air produces optimal immersion and envelopment, contouring and cradling the patient’s foot and leg to protect bony prominences from pressure and shear.
